To help my class learn the names of the different television programmes.

 I had them draw them out on a tv template.

I teach one of the ten Gaeilge themes for 3 weeks at a time.

  I feel the class really learn this way.

I display my Gaeilge theme for 3 weeks in my room so the class become familiar with the vocabulary of the theme I'm teaching.

An Tornapa Mór

For month of January in Gaeilge we have been learning about Bia. 

Our theme of the month was Food. 

I read An Tornapa Mór to my class. I designed worksheets on the book all As Gaeilge. 

We acted out the story using masks. 

I had the class put the story in sequence. 

It was the first time doing a Fairytale in Irish with my 1st class and they loved it and picked up the foclóir so easily.
